"Can You Help Me?" Terminally Ill 5-Year-Old Asks Santa

Eric Schmitt-Matzen got a Call from a nurse he knows who works at the hospital.

She told him there was a very sick 5-year-old boy who wanted to see Santa Claus. She told him to hurry, he Got there in 15 mins... then this happened.

He cried the whole way home, having to pull over sometimes. After he got Home to his Wife, He was so Shaken by the experience he considered leaving Santa Claus behind for good.

He dragged himself to another show, and remembered just what had inspired him to wear Father Christmas suit in the first place.

"When I saw all those children laughing, it brought me back into the fold," he said.

"It made me realize the role I have to play."
