Horse Lays His Head On Coffin As He Mourns Loss Of His Human Best Friend

The bond between a human and an animal can be amazing.

Wagner Lima, a 34-year-old Paraguayan cowboy, died on New Year's Day in a motorcycle accident in Brazil.  Everyone who knew him knew what his horse, Sereno, meant to him.  They were best friends for many years.

Wagner's family knew that Sereno should be at the funeral, right alongside his human friends and family members.

Sereno was a part of the service, but no one expected just how the horse would react when he got close enough to the casket to catch Wagner's scent.

A horse gave a touching farewell to his owner before he was laid to rest. Wagner Lima died in a traffic accident at the age of 34 in Paraiba, Brazil. Lima's brother knew his best friend, a horse named Sereno, should attend the funeral. When the vehicle carrying the casket pulled up at a gathering of mourners, Sereno seemed to know Lima was in there. He reportedly smelled around the coffin and then laid his head on it. He also whimpered during the procession to the cemetery.
