UPDATED: One small area east of the Arena and two blocks north of that remain without power at 9 a.m.  Fewer than 40 customers are affected and the power company has no restoration time estimated as yet.


Power was knocked out to some buildings in downtown Grand Rapids' business district this morning. 

Consumers' Energy indicates the problem affects about 50 of its customers, but it's unkown how many  people  are affected by this lack of electricity at some apartments and condos. 

The power company does say the juice should be back on  before 9 a.m. 

Reportedly, the problem exists in the underground cables
