The proposed law in Michigan that would force doctors to tell their female patients if they have dense breast tissue has been on the back shelf in one committee for more than a year, but now the head of that state House committee says it will be put up for discussion.

Because dense tissue can hide cancers that might otherwise appear in a mammogram, some lawmakers think doctors should be forced to tell patients about getting an alternative test.
