One of the growing forms of entertainment in Michigan these days is trampolining.

As a result, there's a growing number of indoor trampoline parks.

So lawmakers in Lansing, with approval from some trampoline park operators, are increasing regulations.

The Michigan Senate has approved and sent to the house new rules for the parks, which largely involve safety standards for both operators and jumpers.

Under the proposal, operators are required to post rules in a visible place, and maintain the trampolines to meet national safety standards.

At least two such parks have opened recently in Michigan, one in the Detroit area and one in Grand Rapids, known as Sky Zone.

More are in the planning stages.

Currently there are 160 trampoline parks internationally.
