Byron Township planning commissioners recommend letting the proposed Tanger outlet mall be built along US 131.
The company says there's a potential for 800 jobs to be created.
But WOOD TV heard several neighbors in the audience last night stand up to complain of their fears of increased traffic.
Tanger expects four million more people will visit that area every year to go shopping.
One woman said she lives in Byron Township simply because it is a small town and wants to keep it that way.
