Hundreds of thousands of Michigan residents are out of power following high winds. Power lines were knocked down. Trees were knocked down.

Consumers Energy says there are scattered outages across west Michigan. Some areas won't see power returned until Friday or Saturday, according to a Consumers Energy outage map.  At 9:49 Monday morning, that map showed the number of customers without power as follows:

Allegan: 7,108

Barry: 9,390

Ionia: 3,913

Kent: 33,001

Montcalm: 2,493

Muskegon: 2,977

Newaygo: 2,606

Ottawa: 6,825

At that time, Consumers said it had 232,196 without power statewide.  Great Lakes Energy said it had more than 10,600 without power, as well.
