Flashing lights, sirens, and first-responders in "moon suits" will be around the factories on Oak Industrial Drive in Grand Rapids this afternoon.
No panic, says the Kent County Emergency Planner.
Lieutenant Jack Stewart tells WOOD Radio it's a hazardous materials, or HazMat, exercise. Firefighters from Grand Rapids, Kentwood, Gaines and Cascade Townships will practice what to do if the real thing were to occur and involve all their departments simultaneously.
Stewart says communication is the key to it all, and will be a focus of today's doings.
